Frank and Mike is a home based business which was begun in 1994 in New York City and was originally called FranKreations. We changed it to Frank and Mike because for many years our family and friends have referred to us as simply "Frankandmike" like if it's one name, so we couldn't think of a better name for our company. Besides, I wanted to include my wonderful husband, of over twenty years, Mike in the company name and logo.
We were officially incorporated as Frank and Mike, Inc. in 2004. Mike handles the bookkeeping the business side of our corporation and I handle the creative portion.
I was born in Port Lavaca, Texas in 1960, but grew up in the West Texas town of Big Spring. I lived there until I attended the University of Texas - Austin in 1982 where I majored in Fine Art. It was in Austin that I met Mike in 1986. Mike was born in Covington, Kentucky in 1964 and lived there until his father moved to family to Texas to practice medicine. He too attended the University of Texas and were introduced by a mutual friend, Kevin and they rest, as they say, is history. We moved to New York city where Mike studied law at New York Law. But, in 2002 we gave up our careers, in New York City, and relocated to Mike's home state of Kentucky to take care of his parents who had both fallen ill.
But you're probably more interested in our works, so let me tell you about them...
I've been creating unique greeting cards, invitations and digital images since 1994, mostly for myself and our family and friends. I've had such a great response to them, that I decided to do them for a living. I've recently began creating collages and photo curtains, which make wonderful gifts and am always on the lookout for other projects.
I enjoy creating images in a variety of styles ranging from traditional to contemporary. Of course, I'm always experimenting with new styles and techniques and enjoy collaborating with my customers on their projects. I put a lot of time and effort into every piece of work I create, and I hope that shows in the samples I've presented here.
